We offer you a rare chance to work in a high-impact department in Vestas Power Solutions, a core business unit in Vestas where we design all our plant, hybrid and turbine solutions.

Prerequisites for the job are strong financial capabilities, a strategic mindset, strong drive and excellent stakeholder management skills combined with a proven track record of successfully managing project portfolios in alignment with the business strategy.

Portfolio Management has the responsibility of managing and consolidating the investment portfolio in accordance with the strategic direction in Vestas Power Solutions. This includes facilitating project budget alignment, managing the overall project portfolio in the different sub-portfolios in Vestas Power Solutions against the budget, optimising the resource capacity, as well as facilitating performance reviews. In addition, the department drives the development of performance KPIs for the business unit. You will play an integral role in helping the company achieve its ambition by executing the portfolio. 

Portfolio Management is a part of the overall Strategy & Development department - a strategic function with direct reference to the Chief Technology Officer. 

Strategy & Developments primary responsibility is to strengthen strategy development, and strategy execution within Vestas Power Solutions.  A very central focus area of the team is to execute and fulfill Vestas' business strategy by aligning and deploying strategic initiatives as well as monitor and follow up on execution to enable accomplishment of the company's vision.

Responsibilities

• Managing and consolidating the Vestas Power Solutions investment portfolio securing that status of the portfolio is always transparent and accurate, ensuring that issues are highlighted and addressed 
• Reporting status of the portfolio to the management team of Vestas Power Solutions
• Together with finance drive the development of future investment scenarios 
• Alignment and consolidation of the portfolios with other parts of Vestas such as manufacturing 
• Further developing our portfolio principles across Vestas Power Solutions continuously striving towards more and more excellent execution
• Drive the transition in the organisation to new portfolio management principles through strong leader capabilities 
• Building a new team to handle the responsibilities

Qualifications

The successful candidate has significant experience in Portfolio Management and has several years of experience with having the overall responsibility for a large and complex portfolio, ideally gained in a business of similar complexity as Vestas.

• Strong financial capabilities
• You have a hands-on approach to challenges. You always know the status of the portfolio and you are used to communicating it to senior management
• Experience with working in an international and dynamic environment
• Demonstrated ability to develop and drive continuous improvement, change management efforts to promote adoption of new processes
• Documented experience of managing portfolios with high complexity

Competencies

You have strong and proven competencies within the following areas:

• Stakeholder management and communication skills on all levels of the organisation
• Leadership skills, but also hands-on capabilities knowing the machine room of your area 
• Business understanding including understanding of the value chain (Sales, Technology, Manufacturing, IT and Finance)
• System understanding (SAP PPM, MS project or the like)
• Good analytical and systematical skills, strong conceptual understanding
