The Architecture & Innovation function is part of the Global Information Solutions (IS) Organization in Maersk Oil, whose prime purpose is to support and enable value creation among 5000+ Maersk Oil employees and partners located around the globe. We Offer The role of Architecture & Innovation is to ensure transparency and consistency across the global IT landscape and IT decisions, and to facilitate the role of IS as a business enabler. Our guiding principle is to enable business value creation in all we do. We work globally with our stakeholders to make sure individual projects as well as the overall global IT portfolios develop according to business needs and that the underlying enabling technologies evolve in line with the business priorities. We take a practical approach to Enterprise Architecture, focusing on delivery of measurable and actionable outcomes while establishing the necessary level of formal models, principles and guidelines. We contribute to the overall Maersk Oil Innovation capabilities and collaborate with stakeholders across the Maersk Oil Business to exploit new IT opportunities. Our work is based on a firm understanding of the business priorities of an Upstream Oil company combined with a thorough knowledge of Enterprise Architecture best practices, and Information Technology. Key Responsibilities The role of the Senior Enterprise Architect is to enable decisions at the intersection of business needs and technology opportunities and to ensure long and short term development of the overall IT solution landscape in line with Maersk Oil priorities. The scope of activities includes: • Understand IT industry, market trends and other disruptions to determine potential impact and value for Maersk Oil • Understand the Maersk Oil Business Strategies and establish the link to the Technology landscape • Define the principles that guide IT investment and solution delivery decisions for Maersk Oil at global level • Participate in and influence IT solution delivery to the business by utilizing enterprise architecture techniques including business architecture, information architecture, application portfolio and technical architecture. • Participate in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development. • Develop, Analyze and evaluate opportunities for technology Adoption and value creation • Ensure ongoing communication and dialogue between Architecture & Innovation and our stakeholders. • Engage in peer and industry networking and collaboration • Contribute to the ongoing transformation of IS Who we are looking for The Ideal candidate has the following skills and qualifications: • At least 5 years’ experience using enterprise architecture techniques to support business and IT • At least 3-5 years’ experience with system design, integration, and/or project/portfolio management in a global IT environment. • Architecture or solution delivery experience in Upstream Oil industry or with real-time or near-real time operational/production technologies in other industry is an advantage but not a requirement • Experience from working internationally and/or implementing technology and Organizational change • Strong interpersonal skills in areas of teamwork, facilitation and communication • Excellent analytical skills – connecting short and long term priorities and opportunities • Political and Business savvy – able to understand and maneuver in a complex business environment • Strong result-focus and execution skills - High energy and strong drive.
