Department

As a senior manager specialist, you will join 18 colleagues in our Global Development Insights team in Billund. The Global Development Insights team is a part of Global Insights, a full-service research department consisting of 45 people based all over the world, forming an insights partnership with business leaders across the LEGO Group.

Here, you will meet a diverse team with very different backgrounds, e.g. consumer and innovation researchers, digital experts, design researchers, anthropologists, data journalists and futurists. Working across borders, our mission is to constantly strengthen and improve the innovation power of the LEGO Group through solid insights about consumers and markets.

Whether we want to rethink one of our existing business areas or develop a new one, you will be a trusted strategic insights partner and a strong and inspiring research leader. You will seamlessly orchestrate bigger and smaller research projects and translate key insights from various sources into business storylines and recommendations for our future portfolio architecture.

More specifically, you:

- Design and lead strategic research projects, seamlessly mastering and triangulating the latest quantitative and qualitative methodologies and techniques

- Design and lead research on selected innovation projects, securing that innovation is based on solid consumer, shopper and market insights

- Work with an expansive network of global key vendors in order to plan, implement and analyse field studies

- Connect the dots across multiple sources and various data touch points, synthesising insights and making clear recommendations for LEGO executives and decision-makers within the innovation area

- Work closely with business leaders, marketeers and designers in terms of incorporating insights into their development work

- Bring innovation to the methodology toolbox, e.g. how to combine the latest quantitative and qualitative methodologies and techniques, including more experimental methods like business ethnography, extreme and lead user research, co-creation with consumers, etc.

As this is a global role, you can expect to travel 40-50 days a year across the world, especially to the US, China, Germany and the UK.

In this role, you will need your strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with both your team, internal stakeholders and our external research partners, and you know how to inspire and challenge others. Furthermore, you thrive in an abstract, highly dynamic and innovative environment where we do not always know what tomorrow brings.

You also bring:

- Solid experience conducting innovation research – preferably for both front-end and downstream innovation

- A special talent for developing insights-based business storylines based on connecting the dots between multiple sources – 7+ years of experience is expected at this level

- Excellent insights partnership skills – you are a strong influencer, an inspiring communicator and a strategic thinker

- A very strong collaboration mindset and an ability to take on a leadership role and thrive in changeable environments

- A master’s degree or PhD within social sciences, preferably with a business focus

- A proven track record of transforming insights into successful innovation, future opportunity spaces or new innovation strategies

- Excellent English skills in both speech and writing
