In vivo laboratory technician for Cardiovascular Research

We seek a laboratory technician to join Novo Nordisk and participate in our cardiovascular research.
About the department
Cardiovascular Research is a new department in Global Drug Discovery, Novo Nordisk A/S. As part of Novo Nordisk’s new strategy within chronic diseases, this department has a focus towards target identification, validation and pre-clinical progression of new treatment options for atherosclerosis and chronic heart failure. Currently, the department consists of 18 employees and 4 PhD students. We develop, characterise and use in vitro assays, mode-of-action studies and animal models for early evaluation of drug candidates. Laboratory work is carried out by technical staff and scientists as well as outsourced as contract research.
The position
We are seeking a talented laboratory technician to join our in vivo biology team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for performing in vivo experiments in rodents, primarily in mice and rats. As part of the job, you will be involved in the planning of studies, performing the animal experiments, as well as reporting of the data obtained. In addition to a close collaboration with colleagues within the team and department, you will also have a close collaboration with our Animal Unit where in vivo experiments take place. The job offers good development opportunities, and we have a humorous and friendly working climate, with colleagues collaborating across the unit when needed.
Qualifications
You have a relevant background as laboratory technician or similar education. If you have experience from working in the pharmaceutical industry it is an advantage. You have knowledge of and solid hands-on experience with in vivo experiments in rodents Competences within micro-surgery and experience with various ex vivo analyses such as flow cytometry of blood and gene expression analysis of tissues would be an advantage. Furthermore, skills in programs like Excel and GraphPad Prism are important. As a person you are flexible, open to new ideas, and you enjoy being part of a team. We speak both Danish and English in the department hence the job requires some proficiency in English.
