The department is a part of Exploration & Production, which has 700 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We explore for and produce oil and natural gas. Today, our activities are centred in the seas off Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom, and we have an ambitious growth strategy with many exciting projects in the pipeline. You will be based at our offices in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Geologist to play a leading technical role as part of our Geoscience functional team. You will be involved in a wide variety of activities across our assets in Denmark, Norway and the UK, and you will be required to participate in projects across functions and share knowledge of best practice and markets. You will also take part in driving the development of technology across Exploration & Production. Further, your key duties will be to: •assist and/or supervise teams of competent geoscientists with specific projects or data and participate in cross-departmental technical initiatives, projects and studies •facilitate and organise discipline networks and participate in work scope meetings with Assets and Exploration •promote team building and cooperation to assist in ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce •review and perform quality assurance of geological and geophysical deliverables and monitor and recommend methods and knowledge development within the industry •review and recommend interpretation, modelling and analytical software and assist in ensuring that state-of-the-art technologies are being applied. Your profile You have a master's or PhD degree in geology, with minimum 8-12 years of relevant working experience. Ideally, we expect your professional experience to include advanced expertise in a geological or geophysical discipline, including operational experience. You have a strong and proven record in 3D static modelling, and you are recognised as a high-level technical professional within exploration and production. You also have advanced understanding of technical computer science tools, eg analysis and modelling packages, such as Petrel. You possess advanced geological and/or geophysical analysis and interpretation skills, and you have a broad knowledge of other exploration and production disciplines. You have good communication skills as well as technical leadership experience. As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently.
