Senior Mechanical Engineer for front-end novelty element development

Take part in early creation
From first idea to finished product, we have multiple teams in the Elements and Moulds area dedicated to each stage of novelty element development. You will specifically be a part of our front-end engineering team in Billund, specialised in early innovation.
Be it ideas for mechanical elements with capabilities such as spinning or jumping or innovative building experiences – our team makes them come to life by supporting the maturation of the ideas and developing them into finished concepts and technical outlines.
Together with your fellow mechanical engineers, you will:
- Partake in briefs with the design team and other stakeholders to define project scope, timeframe and other aspects based on product ideas
- Translate ideas and rough designs into technical solutions and specifications for new functions and elements
- Assess technical feasibility, product durability, safety and functionality and production capabilities throughout the maturation stage and take corrective actions when needed
- Verify performance and functional properties of technical solutions
- Ensure a successful handover of finished concepts and technical outlines to the downstream execution team and process experts

Experienced product developer
To be a success, you are aware of the effort needed to follow processes and specifications to ensure high quality. With your structured attitude and creative mindset, it is in your nature to balance solutions, so your colleagues from both creative and production departments feel comfortable and happy with the final solution. Lastly, you are highly agile in your work and able to rethink your tasks in environments characterised by changing circumstances, challenges and opportunities for optimisation.
We also look for:
- 5+ years of experience with product development and 3D CAD element design – preferably with Siemens NX
- A mechanical engineering degree
- Preferably, experience with injection moulding and plastic materials and driving ideation processes for complex projects, though it is not a must
- Fluency in English and solid presentation skills
