The Medical Manager (MM) is responsible for the medical-scientific contribution to the medical franchise strategy. This is an important role regarding all medical scientific issues in the filed like; developing and challenge MLMs scientific presentations, one to one discussions with MS experts, understanding the dynamics of national treatment guidelines and development quality indicators. The MM should therefore have expertise in and knowledge of therapeutic area, patient-treatment trends, clinical trials and scientific activities within the MS area and continuously update this expertise and knowledge. The MM should be able to translate medical scientific content to strategy and tactics. Accomplishment of these goals must comply with the terms and conditions outlined in Biogen Idec’s Code of Business Conduct. Specific focus areas (e.g. on a selection of therapies or other key competencies) will be decided, but in a team environment MM’s and MLMs have to be able to stand in for each other. Together the MM, MLMs and Specialists in Denmark are responsible for the medical scientific support, the medical input to product strategy and for the core medical functions like; Pharmacovigilance, Medical Information, medical training and facilitation of studies. Principal Accountabilities •Provide scientific/medical understanding/insight development of national Treatment guidelines and indicators. •Contribute to development of franchise strategy and tactical plan, including implementation of selected projects. •Provide medical training and clinical (project) support primarily to MLMs (and eventually ABM’s) •Engage with MS thought leaders. •Be an active member of the on-line communication team. •Provide adequate answers to medical questions from internal and external customers. *LI-EU4
