This is a unique opportunity to become Novo Nordisk’s global medical voice within NASH. We have high ambitions within the area and you will have the opportunity to accelerate our current research programme and to develop our Global Chief Medical Office (GCMO) as a centre of excellence within NASH. You will collaborate with both internal and external scientific experts within NASH globally and be an important driver of developing the first lifesaving treatments needed by the people living with the disease.

About the department

The GCMO is based in Novo Nordisk’s headquarters and its ongoing development follows the underlying principles of being able to function as an independent “centre of excellence” that internally is patient oriented, ensures cross functional alignment and collaboration, and externally represents NN as one voice. As we move into new therapy areas, the GCMO supports the R&D strategy founded on innovation and expansion of our patient base and serves to align the organisation around the unmet medical need per area as well as being pro-actively involved in the development of therapy area strategies.

 

The position

You will have a direct report to the Senior Vice President of the GCMO and you will create the medical oversight and strategy for our NASH research programme. You will be Novo Nordisk’s senior medical voice globally and develop the GCMO as a global centre of excellence within NASH.

 

You will collaborate across the organisation with different functions like Global Development (clinical), Global Drug Discovery, Global Research Technologies, Regulatory Affairs, Global Safety and Global Medical Affairs. Furthermore you will collaborate externally with academia, KOLs, other pharma/biotech companies, relevant medical-scientific societies and represent R&D on International Professional Association (IPA).

 

This is a key position and you will be exposed to the global scientific community (both internally and externally) within NASH. You will travel and participate in scientific events, meet scientific stakeholders and maintain and develop your existing network.

 

Qualifications

You are a well-established scientist within metabolic liver diseases and you already have a global scientific network. You have a high level of seniority and a background as MD from the clinic and might be Associate Professor or Professor within the area.

 

You have a strong experience as a scientific presenter within metabolic liver diseases and as a person you are good at connecting with people and maintaining your network. Furthermore you have a strong scientific background and the ability to impact and influence both scientist and top management.

 

You enjoy engaging with the key internal and external stakeholders and you have the ability to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment.

 

You like to travel since international travel activity is a natural part of the role.
