LEO Pharma has set an ambitious and exciting strategic direction towards 2025. Our goal is to become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. A vital part of this journey has been to radically expand our treatment approach and product portfolio by incorporating biologics and other new drug candidates with far more complex development perspectives than before.

To bring LEO Pharma to the forefront of medical dermatology increased use of pharmacoepidemiological research is needed during development as well as post launch.

Provide pharmacoepidemiological expertise and experience to projects across LEO

Your overall focus will be to provide pharmacoepidemiological expertise and insight to the development projects and established products across LEO. You will provide scientific understanding to the activities and for the interpretation of Real World Data based research. You will ensure awareness in LEO Pharma of the newest advances in epidemiological methods of relevance for the pharmaceutical industry.   

Your specific job functions include to:

• Propose, design and lead LEO funded observational disease or drug studies based on observational pharmacoepidemiological methods
• Build networks with internal customers and external researchers within pharmacoepidemiology
• Review and propose improvements to proposals and protocols for LEO sponsored observational studies based on primary data, studies based on medical chart reviews and studies based on existing databases
• Train colleagues across LEO in observational study methodology, strengths and limitations

Although you will have a global perspective your travel activities will be limited – up to 20 days per year.      

Professional competencies

A Master’s Degree or higher within Health Sciences and experience from the pharma or medical device industry, including clinical R&D or pharmacovigilance is an advantage. Experience with observational studies and advanced knowledge and understanding of epidemiological methodology, preferably including some years of hands on experience with health care database research. You must be fluent in oral and written English.

To succeed, you will need strong analytical skills and scientific leadership in combination with an ability to drive results in cross-functional teams where mutual respect and knowledge sharing are key words. A general understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage and you must be motivated by the opportunity to help taking the organisation to new levels and have the ideas, courage, communication skills and stamina to come through.

Medical Department, Section of Pharmacoeapidemiology – your new colleagues

You will be part of a small team of 4 persons that together builds the pharmacoepidemiological section. The section is part of Medical Department which is a group of 20+ skilled and dedicated Medical Experts all sharing the same passion for developing new products that can make a significant improvement of the patients’ life. We strive for excellence and work with a high level of integrity in an environment characterised by an open-minded approach and dialogue. The department is part of Medical Sciences that also includes Preclinical Development, Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine. We are based at the LEO headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen.
