Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest utilities and operates in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. For our Civil and Structure department in Engineering within Business Area Wind, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to coordinate and drive the development of our future foundation design.

The development of new foundation concepts and optimization of exiting designs is anchored in a dedicated roadmap organization. As part of the foundation team you will work closely together with the Roadmap Director for Foundations in overseeing the portfolio of products under development.

The Civil and Structural Engineering department is the competence centre for all issues  related to offshore wind foundations, from FEED design and detailed design to manufacturing, O&M and decommissioning.

Your job
As Senior Product Manager you be part of the process of creating industry leading designs for Vattenfall’s offshore wind foundations and thus to maintain our strong competitive position. You take a full life cycle view to design and maintain a strong focus on design application across the portfolio of offshore wind projects. You will keep track of the technical maturity of ongoing product development and will be overall responsible technical decisions during execution as well as for recommending application of products and concepts to new offshore wind projects based on maturity level, time schedule and site specific conditions. You will furthermore be part of the management team in the Civil and Structural Engineering department.
 
Your main responsibilities include:  
• Maintaining state of the art knowledge of foundation design for offshore wind
• Leading and guiding project managers and technical specialists
• Maintain clear communication between internal and external stakeholders
• Design of primary and secondary steel for offshore foundations
• Identification of key areas of optimization of existing design solutions based on a full life cycle approach
• Actively engage in the detailed technical maturation of new foundation designs

Your profile:
You have an educational background as structural engineer and are able to tale a holistic view of design to support our life cycle approach to our offshore wind farms. You have an innovative mind-set and can see yourself working in an environment where we value entrepreneurship, the pragmatic approach and helpfulness in our daily work. You can work self-dependent while sharing and seeking knowledge in the team. You show initiative and have a flexible approach to your work. You possess good interpersonal skills and can communicate technical messages on a clear and constructive way both internally and to external partners.

The following specific qualifications are important for this position:
• M.Sc./Ph.D. in structural engineering
• More than 10 years of experience with design and manufacturing of foundations for offshore wind, including  monopile, jacket and ideally also floating foundations
• Experience from managing complex projects and/or project portfolios
• Strong commercial mindset and excellent communication skills
• Experience with contract and supplier management
• Proficiency in English

Location:
