Would you like to build the quantitative machinery for our future business in gas and power markets, and are you good at explaining complex concepts and understanding business needs? Join us and become Senior Quantitative Developer in Quantitative Analytics. We are the centre of excellence for quantitative analysis in the Group. We work closely with negotiators, originators, portfolio managers and traders to deliver quantitative insights and quantitative solutions, while taking responsibility for methodologies and financial reporting content. We want to focus on putting the right front-end solutions in the hands of our stakeholders, and this is where you come in. The department is part of Customers & Markets which has 1,600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We handle the production from our wind farms and oil and gas fields to the energy exchanges and customers in Northern Europe, and we distribute electricity and natural gas to businesses and private customers in Denmark. You will be based at our office in Virum in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility Your main responsibilities will be to drive development projects and to support and maintain existing systems and models. In your daily work, you will have very frequent interaction with colleagues and stakeholders, and you will actively take part in the ongoing planning and prioritisation of activities. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •undertake scoping, planning and implementation in close collaboration with our stakeholder in connection with development projects with primary focus on building front-end solutions in C#, VBA on top of our existing model landscape •implement and refine underlying valuation, market and optimisation models for the gas and power portfolios •provide support to users and make sure that we have right processes in place to ensure smooth operations •ensure that models and systems are up to date from both a business and an IT perspective. Your profile You have a master’s degree and, preferably, a PhD in economics, engineering, physics or another quantitative discipline. You have professional experience applying mathematical, financial models and valuation methods, preferably from the energy or financial sector. You will primarily use C#/VBA/C++, and knowledge of Matlab and SAS is also considered an advantage. You enjoy communicating complex quantitative matters in a simple way, and you are used to working closely with stakeholders. Furthermore, you are a self-driven and passionate team player.
