We are seeking a highly qualified, motivated and energetic Senior Research Scientist for a challenging position in CMC Analytical Support to drive and support our work on the development of protein and peptide-based drug candidates targeted for treatment of diabetes. We are approximately 67 colleagues supporting the development organisation with expertise in specialised analytical tasks – from late discovery to product launch. The department is part of the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Supply Unit, located in Måløv. Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control Supply (CMC) is a part of the Research & Development organisation, manufacturing and distributing drug candidates for pre- and clinical trials. We develop and formulate all new protein and peptide processes coming out of our research units in our pilot plants, ensuring that we bring best-in-class treatments to the market. CMC Supply is organised in seven areas of expertise supporting the entire drug development pipeline. Working in CMC Supply, you’ll be part of a team of the best and brightest in your field, where scientific integrity is standard and shared responsibility taken for granted. About the department You will be part of team “Peptide Characterization, Diabetes”, responsible for elucidation of structures and impurities of peptides and proteins. The team consists of four structural scientists and five technicians – all experienced, dedicated, and with a “can-do” attitude. The job You will be responsible for planning, performing and coordinating structural characterisation input to development projects. This could consist of verification of the primary structure of an API batch, determination of impurities, or providing scientific ad hoc support on a specific challenge. You will collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation and design, interpret and report experiments - hereby generating pharmaceutical documentation for internal and external use. Qualifications You hold a PhD in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, biochemistry, or another relevant scientific discipline. You must have minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with analysis of peptides and smaller biomolecules by e.g. (U)HPLC-MS/MS or NMR spectroscopy. Knowledge of organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms is an advantage, but not a must. It is a clear advantage if you have experience from the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes as well as experience with writing documents for regulatory use and knowledge of GMP. You work systematically and meet your deadlines, have good communication and collaborative skills and you are used to adhering to strict documentation standards for your work.
