Then come and join our department, Development DMPK. The Global Research Unit specialises in the discovery of biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes. We also discover and develop new innovative biopharmaceuticals for haemophilia and growth disorders and explore novel treatments for obesity and – longer term – microvascular complications of diabetes. Consisting of approximately 1500 highly qualified scientists, postdocs, and technicians, the Global Research Unit conducts its world-class research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Beijing, and Seattle. About the department We are a highly motivated and expanding team striving to provide and integrate state-of-the-art non-clinical and clinical Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics data from late-stage discovery and throughout non-clinical and clinical development. Together with other departments in the Non-Clinical Development organisation we prepare for and contribute to non-clinical and clinical testing of new drug candidates coming from the Global Research pipeline. For projects in clinical development we are closely collaborating with clinical pharmacologists, statisticians and medical directors to optimise the DMPK characterisation. The department currently consists of 16 scientists and 4 laboratory technicians working together in an open, challenging and cross-functional environment. The job You will prepare scientific strategies and design, conduct and report on Drug Metabolism studies on new therapeutic candidates in a GLP/GCP compliant facility. Collaboration with a variety of internal stakeholders in the R&D organisation as well as with Contract Research Organisations will be an integral part of your work. As part of interdisciplinary non-clinical and clinical project teams you will be responsible for delivering, interpreting and presenting Drug Metabolism data according to project timelines and provide input to regulatory documents. This position will focus on profiling and identification of metabolites of chemically modified peptide- and protein-based drugs from non-clinical and clinical studies using state-of-the-art qualitative and semi-quantitative LC-MS technology such as UPLC and High Resolution MS. Qualifications A Master or Ph.D. degree in a DMPK-related field followed by at least 6 years of relevant experience from academia or the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Hands-on experience with structure identification of peptides and proteins using LC-MS is required and a broad knowledge of DMPK-related technologies and methods will be an advantage (radio isotope detection techniques and different types of in vitro and in vivo studies). Experience with GLP/GCP will be an advantage. Ideally, you should be familiar with the overall Drug Development process to facilitate interaction with both Early Discovery departments as well as clinical functions.
