For our Global Siting department in Brande, Denmark we are looking for a Senior Siting Engineer. The department is globally responsible for the development and implementation of new tools and methodologies for micro siting, terrain and climatic evaluation, wind resource mapping and wind turbine load evaluation. The dedicated wind experts of Global Siting coordinate wind and site related activities with colleagues around the world. What are my responsibilities? As a Senior Siting Engineer you will provide expert assistance to Sales as well as Regional Siting as regards the siting process and project approvals. Your responsibilities will include the application of micro siting, energy yield calculations and load approvals within a predefined scope. Moreover, you will be responsible for: · Educating regional Siting Engineers. · Supporting the regions where needed. · Developing and improving the core siting processes on a global level. · Participating in internal research projects. · Evaluating turbine suitability studies to determine whether or not wind turbines are suitable for sites with given wind conditions. · Providing technical assistance to Sales and Proposals in order to minimize time-consuming contact to the Engineering department. · Interfacing information between the R&D department and the regions. What do I need to qualify for this job? · You have a degree in Mechanical/Aerodynamic Engineering or Meteorology, combined with minimum 3-5 years of experience with wind and site or load calculations related to the wind turbine technology. · You have knowledge of fluid/mechanics dynamics. · As a person you are proactive, open-minded, result-oriented and possess strong analytical skills. · You are a fast learner with an affinity for technical challenges, and you have a structured and quality-conscious approach to your tasks as well as the ability to work independently in a multicultural environment. · You are well versed in MS Office, MATLAB, WASP and WindSim and possess excellent English skills, both orally and in writing. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated. What else do I need to know?
