In the role as Senior Specialist in Vestas Load & Control it will be your responsibility to strengthen the technical decision-making at a strategic level in the very early stages of new projects.

The Load & Control department is one of the key areas in shaping the products of tomorrow. In a strong corporation with our internal product owner, we balance the trade-offs between power production and loading, while introducing new rotors, ultimately leading to the most competitive new products introduced to the market. The main deliveries from the department are loading envelope to other component groups as well as commercial power performance documentation directly supporting Vestas' position in the market. Another key delivery is the overall control strategy for the turbines, ensuring optimal operation of a highly dynamic system. Internally Loads & Control are organized in three departments: LaC Platform, LaC Technology and LaC Tools.

LaC works in a global setup, and through well-defined areas of responsibility, you will furthermore be cooperating with our design hubs in Porto, Portugal and Chennai, India. Therefore, you will have many very high skilled colleagues, in a social, yet result-oriented atmosphere.

Responsibilities
Your tasks will be within, but not limited to:

• Product feasibility of new turbine variants, e.g. on the new Enventus platform
• Support developing our module roadmap for Load & Production Control (LPC)
• Supporting Auction and Megadeal Projects and sales support together with the Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Initiate strategic activities for improvements of our simulation platform including methodologies for load calculations, aero performance, power performance and aero acoustics

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience within one or more of the three disciplines of 1) Loads 2) Aeroelasticity and 3) Control technology, so that you master the full physics and dynamics in the turbine
• Strong experience in driving technical projects with many stakeholders across the organisation
• ability to gear your efforts through collaboration and effective delegation to the team
• Business mindset and balancing between effectiveness (do the right things) and quality (do things right)
• You could have a Ph.D or a M.Sc., but most importantly is your long proven track record within the three technical disciplines
