The Energy Management & Storage team consists of highly skilled and diverse people with different nationalities, technical competencies and educational backgrounds - in software, hardware and in the commercial space.

Responsibilities

Actuaries and risk analysis are playing an important and increasing role in our new products and services. Together with our software specialists and specialists in the energy markets you will be responsible for innovating new business models and revenue streams and provide associated risk mitigation strategies.

You will: 

  • Develop descriptive models for power prices and perform risk analysis of operational strategies for distributed renewable energy assets
  • Develop asset portfolio operational strategies and portfolio composition strategies to reduce impact of the intermittent nature of renewable energy resources in the electricity grid
  • Innovate insurance and warranty-based products and specialised risk transfer mechanisms for renewable energy assets
  • Investigate how insurance can mobilize financing for renewable energy projects and identify the most cost-effective ways to reduce risks, such as construction and operational risks as well as risks related to the intermittent nature of renewable energy production and regulatory uncertainties


Qualifications

  • Actuarial experience is preferred, as well as a PhD (or equivalent documented experience) in applied mathematics, statistics or actuarial sciences
  • Experience with the design of warranties and insurance
  • Documented experience with R and preferably Spotfire
