The role will be placed either in Copenhagen, Denmark, or Maidenhead, UK, depending on the location of the best candidate. The OCIO team is represented in both locations. Limited travel activity between the 2 locations is to be expected.

Key responsibilities

The Strategy and Transformation (S&T) function was established within the Office of the Chief Technology and Information Officer (OCTIO) to drive the formulation of technology strategies to enable Maersk to achieve its business vision. Furthermore, this function facilitates the institution of an effective operating model and its underpinning capabilities that allow the Technology function to deliver on the technologies that have strategic relevance and support Maersk’s business objectives.

In the above context, the Senior Strategy Manager will have the following responsibilities:

1.Overall responsibility for ensuring our IT strategy reflects the end-to-end view:
•Maintaining alignment of IT strategy with wider organizational vision and strategic development
•The custodian of the IT Strategy and drive the periodic review and (re)calibration based on wider change forces
•Period strategy development / review planning and maintaining the agreed high-level strategy plan, which will naturally change and update with time

2.Full engagement and alignment across the Technology function:
•Working actively with the strategy pillar owners to align outcomes and, as a skilled ‘activist’, to enable supportive steering and challenge
•Working across strategy pillars, identify strategic dependencies (across functions & business areas) and intervene early, ensuring the sum of the whole is more than the parts
•Sitting across the pulse of strategic activities across the function, both the ‘known’ and ‘unknown’, working constructively to course correct and expose where necessary
•Provide guidance to varying parts of the organization on strategic direction and tailored support where necessary to assure choices are made in conformity with that strategic direction

3.Strategy content and context tracking and reporting:
•Ownership of IT strategy benefits tracking and reporting, across IT and other business areas.

We are looking for

•Min. Bachelor degree in a relevant field
•Experience in developing and translating strategies into business outcomes
•Managing strategic planning processes
•Support on growing and developing internal strategical capabilities
•Excellent facilitation skills
•High ability to influence without authority
•Ability to navigate different levels in the organization and handle ambiguity in times of rapid transformation and change;
•Ability to apply sound judgement on when alignment and information sharing is needed, and when it is necessary to move ahead although not all details are in place;
•Fluency in English, while Danish is not required
