Designing the future

As a Software Engineer specialized in JAVA, you will be part of a highly skilled team whose members are jointly responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the high-level software in our robots. The software you will be working on is responsible for all functionality which is not strictly related to low-level control. Thus, you will have the opportunity to work with complex domain logic, a domain-specific language for graphical robot programming, intuitive user interfaces, service provided to external systems, user-friendly integration with external hardware, support for third party plugins, 3D graphics, and much more.

Your colleagues are experts in many different areas such as mechanical design, kinematics and embedded programming. You will be part of a Scrum-team working cross-functionally with other SW Developers, UX Experts and Test Engineers.

Passion and perfection

Our mind is not set on a specific background and/or approach to this job, but we are looking for experienced level candidates with several years of proven work experience. The ideal candidate has a strong JAVA background, where C++ and Python experience are considered a plus, but not required. Knowledge about some of the following technologies will be an additional plus: Guice, OSGi, Swing, Linux, Bash, RxJava.

Further we expect the following from you:

Ability to write clean and maintainable code
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns and software architecture
Familiarity with UI frameworks
Focus on quality with a solid understanding of Test-Driven Development
Experience with continuous integration and revision control systems is a plus
Fluent in written and spoken English

We expect you to be flexible and a fast-learner, as our set-up is continuously evolving. You are excited about development and results, and you have an analytical approach to your work. You are structured and know how to work independently as well as part of a team. You thrive in a busy working environment and like solving complex tasks.
