Are you both motivated and experienced in real time plant control software R&D? Then you may likely be the person we are looking for. As our new Specialist in Plant Control Architecture you would be joining a team bridging the electrical designed solution of future grid connection and -compliance requirements into state of the art software solution, to be implemented into our Power Plant Controller. We are bridging the needs and requirements from the Transmission Systems with the capabilities of our Wind Turbines by developing advanced Power Plant Controls, specifying new electrical performance requirements for the Wind Turbines and integrating Balance of Plant components. Vestas Technology and Service Solutions, Control System Design. Control System Design which is a part of Plant Power Systems (PPS) which again is a part of Plant Solutions, within our Technology organization. Plant Solutions is responsible for the products and services, which enable our regional sales organizations to sell, install and service turnkey wind power plants. The products and services transforming a number of turbines into a Wind Power Plant on par with traditional power plants. This includes Electrical grid connection and compliance, SCADA systems, Data acquisitions, Data analysis and Siting. The PPS department is responsible for electrical grid integration of the Vestas turbine portfolio. We have an impact on the total value chain from market requirements to development of solutions to advanced technical training and support of our regional sales organizations - with the main purpose to ensure grid connections to various Power Systems worldwide. PPS consist of two different competence domains working smoothly together: Electrical Engineering and Controls Development. Electrical Engineering is responsible for collecting and influencing the electrical requirements from Transmission System Operators written in Grid Codes as well as designing solutions - often to be implemented in our advanced Power Plant Controller, which is a part of the SCADA system. Controls development is responsible for our core product: the Power Plant Controller incl. embedded and real time SW development, release management and support - also including HW development of all SCADA system products. Responsibilities: You will be working with all or a subset of these challenges: Guide SW group and design for fully object oriented (OO) design process. Strategy and development of real time hardware in the loop lab test equipment. Cooperate with and support project- and line managers. Guide, coach and follow up at engineers. Perform innovation leadership to secure state of the art processes and tools. Perform technical leadership to secure system functionality and optimization. Design and implementation of control solution- and software architecture for wind power plant controls Defining and implementing code standards Define verification procedures and processes for software development Implementing software development- and quality processes Verification of SW functionality by use of Hardware In the Loop test environment Full scale site- and grid impact test of new software designs Secure proper integration in the combined architecture around industrial standards like ISO/IEC, NERC/FERC etc. Writing and reviewing of Requirement Specifications, Design Descriptions, Verification Procedures and –Reports. Qualifications: Software Engineer (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) with 10 years of experience You are an experienced real time control architect, who have been designing large and complex control systems Competencies: Very experienced with firmware and operation system SW Very experienced with software development in C++ PLC programing knowledge is an advantage but not a requirement. You have a proven track record of making SW implementation descriptions Experience with industrial protocols and fieldbuses; TCP/IP, DNP3, Modbus, serial etc. You have the desire and the ability to understand a
