Maersk Drilling’s management system is called Sirius, and it contains processes and procedures for operating the offshore drilling rigs, as well as for managing the business activities performed in the onshore offices and headquarters. As the management system is used internally and reviewed by external parties such as regulatory authorities and customers, it is crucial that the quality and integrity of the content is consistently high, is in compliance with the relevant requirements, changes are processed with a clear audit trail, and continual improvements are made in terms of content simplification and Sirius’s usability as an IT application. As part of a diverse team with a can-do attitude, the position will provide you with unique insight into Maersk Drilling’s business and the oil & gas industry in general. The department is engaged in a number of projects and you will be involved in analytical and administrative aspects of these. There are ample opportunities for personal and professional development as your role is to provide support in all aspects of managing the management system. It is rare that two days are the same. The working hours are estimated at 15 to 20 hours a week and can be planned flexibly around your studies, with opportunities to contribute more during university holidays. There is a possibility for a permanent position being offered upon graduation to a high performing candidate with the right potential. Key Responsibilities As a student assistant, your main tasks will be: • Support the creation and update of content in the management system • Support improvements of the management system-related processes • Support projects such as the development and implementation of IT solutions and enhancements • Support process mapping workshops, delivery of presentations, IT systems training and other business events • Support the annual review of the management system by senior management • Conduct surveys to measure user satisfaction levels • Develop and update the training material and procedural documentation • ...and various ad-hoc assignments. By fully understanding the end user’s needs and constructively challenging the status quo, you make a positive difference and strive to deliver ‘peace of mind’ to those who depend on a reliable management system to perform their daily work safely, effectively and efficiently. Who we are looking for You are studying for a bachelor’s degree. Having a background in an information management or IT-related field, though not a pre-requisite, can be an advantage. As a person, you are meticulous, thorough, detail-oriented, careful and diligent. You work in a structured and systematic manner. By following a well-established and proven plan, you deliver results that are exacting, of high quality and precisely meet the requirements. You have good analytical reasoning and problem solving skills which lead to solutions that are carefully thought through. You are flexible in adapting as and when priorities change. You have knowledge of or interest in learning process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. You are IT savvy, have the interest to learn new IT systems and are keen to apply technology in support of the business strategy.
