Join Vestas as Support Engineer for Northern Hub in Regional Operation and Support, providing technical support mainly to the service departments in Scandinavia, UK/Ireland and Poland. Regional Operation and Support Regional Operation and Support is spread across the world supporting the local Sales, Construction and Service departments with technical knowledge and acting as the link between R&D and these local business units. Engineering Northern Hub consists of 14 people all located in Videbæk, Denmark. The main areas of support are Mechanical (gearboxes, yaw, hydraulic, lubricants), Electrical (generator converter, control system), Software and Blades. The main tasks for the department includes: providing direct phone support to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair, evaluating damage on main components, providing answers to technical questions internal and external and taking part in customer meetings and seminars. Responsibilities Technical follow up on gearbox related jobs with focus on turbine performance. Support the Customer Care group in technical matters. Presenting Technical matters at customer meetings. Answering ad-hoc requests and emails, and handling failure reports from Service technicians. Coordinate the contact from Engineering Northern Hub to Technology. Technical questions and warranty cases dialogue with sub-suppliers. Technical knowledge sharing with the rest of the group. Writing Technical Customer reports. Qualifications Solid technical education (engineer or similar) or shorter theoretical education as mechanic/electrician with extended working experience with in wind industry. Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written. Working experience from the wind industry preferred Solid knowledge in mechanical systems. Knowledge of wind turbine gearboxes and hydraulic systems preferred. Understanding of the customers’ view on and demands to large engineering projects.
