We are now looking for a telephony enthusiast, who cannot wait to get hands-on with our technical setup in our phone lab!
Area & position
You will be part of the Strategic Alliances team and responsible for technical setup and maintenance of the communication platforms and related network infrastructure in our laboratory.
Our communications laboratory consists of PBX infrastructure and communication managers for unified communications including endpoints and desk phones; LAN; servers and cloud-based communications solutions. We have a broad range of platforms from leading communications providers.
The position focuses on the administration and support of infrastructure: hardware, software, network and associated services. We expect you to participate in and/or lead activities such as planning, installing, configurating, maintaining, documenting, troubleshooting and upgrading infrastructure related services.
You will resolve and escalate complex problems to vendors and suppliers as needed to address system-, network- and application problems. You will work closely with other functions within Sennheiser, outsourcing partners and subcontractors.
Main responsibilities
Responsible for the infrastructure in the communications laboratory:
- Design, configure, administrate, maintain and document network environment, equipment and software (TCP/IP, VPN, firewall solutions, SIP, VoIP)
- Configure, document and deploy unified communications, VoIP telephony soft clients, and desk phones for testing, development and support issues
- Troubleshoot setup and configuration issues for laboratory equipment and environment including access to hosted solutions
- Proactively update and educate our R&D and global support departments in different test request equipment and ensure external access to lab from outsourcing development and test partners
- Our laboratory consists of hard- and software from a wide variety of suppliers of operating systems, server technology and communications platforms and end points and our new colleague will handle contact to suppliers of laboratory equipment
Professional skills
- Solid knowledge of IP networks including knowledge of network security (Cisco CCNA or similar preferable)
- Knowledge of and experience with VoIP and unified communications technologies
- Knowledge of configuration and setup of desk phones and software-based communication clients
- Good knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS and Linux etc.)
- Experience in working with technology consultants for tasks demanding specific expertise on communication management solutions and network environments
- Some travelling should be expected
