What do we offer? Would you like to help modernise our software platform and contribute with your expertise within Java while being challenged on software architecture as well as influencing the software that controls the Grundfos pump production? Join us for a chance to see your programming/code come to life in production plants, where we produce the pumps that affect the world’s energy consumption. You will join the IS Development Factory – more specifically the Systems department where we are responsible for our own developed systems for the Grundfos Sales Support and Business tools and the different production processes. You become part of a smaller team working on Java and a MES system for the Grundfos electronics production. The team has two skilled developers, who are both ready to welcome you. You will refer to Department Head, Jan Hinnerfeldt Nielsen. ”The atmosphere in the department is really good, and we make an effort to constantly stay up-to-date on our field of expertise. So you can expect to upgrade your skills on an ongoing basis in this team and spar with competent and professional colleagues,” Jan explains. What is the job about? We are currently in the process of modernising the system you will be working on. As such, you are responsible for analysing architecture and software requirements and design programmes in order to transition the system into easier maintenance and increased stability. This work will lay the foundation for further development on the system. Thus, you develop concise and robust programming code for programmes and application elements using standard development tools and platforms in order to support business requirements. You are part of a team working with 3 week development SPRINTs. Another part of your job is to be responsible for building proper automatic testing of the applications and provide support and bug fixing in collaboration with the internal IS colleagues. Moreover, you ensure that the system solutions are aligned with IS standard platforms and chosen integration solutions. “As we are modernising the system, a challenge will be to work with automated tests. Being creative is an essential part of the job, but at the same time, your challenge will be to work with quality assurance and automatic testing to make the applications highly stable, as system up time in our production is vital. When modernising the system, it is important to consider how to cater to all the non-functional requirements such as stability, performance etc. We strive for seamless deployment,” Jan says. What do you need to apply? As a minimum, you hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science or an equivalent education, and you have some years of experience with Java development and knowledge of databases. It is an advantage, if you are knowledgeable about Java development support tools, e.g. Jira tasks handling, GIT source code repository, application servers (Jboss & WAS/RAD), build scripts like Maven or Graddle, System build and deployment (e.g. Jenkins). As the corporate language is English, you need to be fluent in verbal and written English. If you speak Danish, it is a plus but not a prerequisite. “On a personal level, you thrive, working in a team, and you want to contribute with your knowledge while taking ownership and responsibility for your tasks. You are able to look at things holistically, and finally, you are an excellent communicator who networks effortlessly in an international organisation,” Jan finishes.
