About the department

Medical and Science, GLP-1 Diabetes, NADs & Complications is part of Global Development in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. We are medically responsible for clinical development programmes within diabetes, diabetic complications and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Our responsibilities include planning and execution of clinical trials (phase 1-4) and providing medical and scientific support to health authority interactions (e.g. Investigational New Drug (IND) and New Drug (NDA) Applications). Currently, the department consists of nine medical specialists (MDs).  

 

The position

As a medical specialist you will be involved in a great variety of tasks supporting our projects in close collaboration with many other skill types such as Trial Operations, Biostatistics and Global Drug Discovery (pre-clinical research). You will play a leading role in designing clinical trials, provide medical oversight in the trial conduct phase, interpret trial data including risk-benefit profiles of drugs, document trial results and support regulatory submissions. You will give oral presentations internally and externally and co-author publications of trial data. 

Specifically, you will be part of driving our projects within the NASH portfolio with early-stage and late-stage clinical trials and support our activities in NASH biomarker development, and you will be given the opportunity and time to dedicate yourself to become a medical specialist within this area. You will work with external advisors and key opinion leaders in the NASH field, and we expect you to understand how to establish and maintain these professional relationships.

 

Qualifications

You hold a university degree as a Medical Doctor and have clinical practice experience, ideally from hepatology or endocrinology, and have documented research experience such as a PhD and/or clinical development experience. Experience as (co)-investigator in clinical trials is a plus, but most importantly, you are a lifelong learner and welcome the opportunity to develop new skills and gain further experience within drug development.

You have excellent communication skills (proficiency in written and spoken English), as well as strong coordination/planning and collaborative capabilities. Key attributes include analytical and strategic skills, creativity, flexibility and ability to prioritise tasks. Successful candidates are dedicated team players with the ability to collaborate with many different stakeholders with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Therefore, all new employees will be given individual tailored introductions programs. 

Up to 15% travelling should be expected.
