About the department R&D Communication is one of two central parts of the R&D Communication and Patient Partnering department. The latter is centrally placed within Strategic R&D, which reports to the CSO of Novo Nordisk and is a value partner to the R&D organisation - ie more than 6000 employees worldwide. The focus for R&D Communication is to connect people, facilitate knowledge-transfer, and transform ideas into R&D focused communication, branding and learning opportunities in support of the corporate strategy and Novo Nordisk’s commitment to patients. The job You will become the leader of a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for (a) designing, delivering and maintaining a R&D branding strategy and for delivering this within and beyond R&D and Novo Nordisk and (b) leveraging the value of Novo Nordisk R&D via internal and external stories that engage internal and external stakeholders. In close collaboration with e.g. the Head of the Department, who you will report to, you will design and successfully implement innovative internal and external initiatives that purposefully position Novo Nordisk R&D at and beyond therapy level in support of the corporate strategy. Along this, you will also design and lead the implementation of ‘R&D communication and branding campaigns’. As team leader of R&D Communication you will represent the department in several cross-organisational networks and task forces – some you will lead yourself – and via these ensure that that R&D is an integral part of the overall branding efforts. Additionally, you advise and otherwise support R&D senior leaders across the R&D organisation in the Type 1 and diabetes complications areas, and play a key role in global positioning initiatives in these areas in close collaboration with peers from e.g. Marketing and Public Affairs. Qualifications Your “can do” and team (leader) mindset, experience in a-z project and budget management, in navigating in matrix structures and in delivering high-impact results via stakeholder engagement – including internal/external partnerships - are crucial for your ability to succeed in this job. You bring a Master’s degree within communication, branding, integrated communication and/or marketing backed by minimum 5+ years’ experience from driving strategic communication/stakeholder engagement activities in the pharma industry. Your career has provided you with extensive experience within design and implementation of positioning strategies, and you have a proven track record with regard to successfully choosing and managing vendors and project teams in a matrix set-up. You are used to work as a partner and advisor to your team members, senior managers, as well as other key stakeholders where your excellent stakeholder management and communication skills make a difference.
