We are looking for a Technical Writer with linguistic skills to work in the Manufacturing Engineering Department within Service Technology. The role involves creating work instructions used when maintaining Siemens wind turbines, globally. The Manufacturing Engineering Department has overall responsibility for the internal communication and documentation used by Service Technicians on-site. The team comprises a mixture of administrative personnel and Service Technicians. What are my responsibilities? Create and update existing work instructions used by Service Technicians. Conduct editorial reviews of work instructions created by colleagues. Ensure reviews from a technical and safety perspective are considered when releasing work instructions in Teamcenter DMS. Develop methods for technical documentation within existing standards e.g. S1000-D, DITA or equivalent. Provide linguistic support to other functions in the Department. Conduct training of colleagues in the creation of work instructions. This position requires working in heights, since some of the work will be done onsite. What do I need to qualify for this job? Experience in writing and managing technical documentation is a key requirement. It is of the utmost importance that you are used to working closely with field technicians and engineers in order to use their knowledge and experience as the primary input when creating work instructions. A linguistic background (English) with technical knowledge. Ideally, you will have previous work experience from an industry used to producing technical documentation to a high standard. Outgoing and proactive person who is able to structure their work assignments and is capable of multi-tasking. Understand the importance of adhering to safe working practices whilst producing good quality and precise work instructions. Experience with Teamcenter and CAD tools is advantageous.
