For our Customer Order Engineering department (Onshore – UK, North Europe and APAC) we are looking for a Technical Writer with passion for transforming technical data into easy understandable installation and dismantling manuals, and other related work instructions. As a Technical Writer you will have a broad interface to the organization, gathering information from design engineers, EHS, site personnel and other subject matter experts to be used for the creation and maintenance of the documentation in question. It is important that you are not afraid of heights as you will be observing the installation of the onshore Wind Turbines, where being up in the turbine is necessary. Furthermore, approximately 10% travel activity (up to 1-3 weeks at a time) is to be expected. What are my responsibilities? Gather information from various internal stakeholders including visiting the sites when necessary to obtain the necessary documentation input. Author manuals in English in a correct, concise and easy-to-understand manner for our Xml based CMS system. Initiate the review, approval and publishing processes. What do I need to qualify for this job? A technical educational background and hands-on experience from craftsmanship (mechanical, electrical, fitting/contractor) or similar. Excellent communication skills and proficient in English in writing as well as orally. User of the following: MS Office Adobe Frame Maker Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator Team center (Viewer), Xml and CMS systems will be considered to be an advantage Knowledge of Wind Turbines and documentation standards will be considered to be an advantage. We expect you to be self-motivated, proactive and have a dedicated and structured approach to your tasks. Furthermore, you are comfortable with travel activities that may change on a short notice, tight and changing deadlines and able to navigate in a dynamic work environment with multiple interfaces.
