Haldor Topsøe is an international company based in Denmark, but selling highly specialized catalysts and technologies across the world within the energy sector, petrochemicals, environmental solutions, and ammonia for food production. The company is in rapid development with a very ambitious growth strategy “30 in 25” (30 billion DKK turnover in 2025). As part of our long term strategy we are expanding into new business areas. Therefore, we now offer an exciting position as technology scouting engineer in New Business R&D, where you will work with identifying new and promising technologies for Haldor Topsøe. Your job will be to evaluate technologies and the business opportunities they offer, establish collaborations with relevant partners and pave the way for these technologies to become R&D development projects. The job involves travelling to potential partners’ sites to evaluate their technologies and discuss opportunities for collaboration. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to greatly expand your network and experience different countries and cultures. You will be part of a global team with footprint in Denmark, China, India and US. You will be responsible for scoping, organizing, and driving technology scouting projects for New Business R&D and for identifying potential future technology investments, partners, and developments according to Haldor Topsøe’s strategic goals. You will work together with colleagues in New Business as well as colleagues from other departments across the company, and therefore have the opportunity to expand and strengthen your network within the company. Your responsibilities - Drive technology scouting projects and technology evaluations of potential partners and potential technology investments - Visit interesting candidates for potential partners, evaluate their technologies and discuss collaboration opportunities - Manage relationships and drive established collaboration projects - Drive creative development of technology scouting processes and tools - Use and optimize currently established tools and methods for idea, contact, and opportunity management - Develop and maintain external networks and strategic relationships - Assess and propose technology/product concept investments to pursue You - Are self-motivated with strong execution skills and a sense of urgency - Are systematic and persistent in the execution of your duties and reaching goals - Are capable of working independently, but still a team player - Are an excellent communicator and networker, both within the company and for external relationships - Are positive and have an entrepreneurial mindset - Are ready to travel 30-50 days per year Qualifications You have a relevant Master’s Degree or PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, electrochemistry, physics, or a related field. Industrial experience is an advantage, but we also encourage new graduates to apply. Understanding of IPR and licensing as well as experience from a high tech start-up or similar business is considered an advantage.
