To make Vestas wind turbines most reliable we are bringing the field conditions into our test centers. The Test & Verification operates the biggest test facilities in wind industry. It covers more than 50 test rigs on 30,000sqm. It includes some of the biggest and most advanced test rigs in the wind business (e.g generator rigs up to 16MW, 80m full scaled blade rigs and gearbox rigs up to 20MW). Vesats T&V - Power Conversion You will be joining a department consisting of 27 skilled engineers and technicians. The team is responsible to plan and execute tests on gearboxes, converter and generators according our verification procedures and standards. You will develop new test methods, procedures and test equipment together with the design teams to ensure that the tests are always executed highly efficient on high quality level. As a member of the testing team you need to take care that our test benches and equipment is regular maintained, up to date and always ready for testing. Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities will be to plan and execute tests on drive trains , but we also expect you to: Have knowledge in the design of the drivetrain (gearboxes and bearings) and their constraints for given projects in order to execute flawless and efficiently the right test in collaboration with specialists and design teams. Develop and planning of tests and theire procedures Execute test according planning and budget Summarize test and verification results to influence the design according requirements and reliability Work close with project management and design to ensure execution of verification plans Participate in supplier qualification test of gearboxes Qualifications: You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related specialisms; in particular, advanced experience in the design of bearings, gears and lubrication systems will be considered relevant to the position. Further, we expect you to have: Experience of at least 3 years in testing and testing methods (accelerated reliability, functional and performance, etc.). At least 2 years' experience with failure modes and mechanism on mechanical components Some experience in calculations of gears, bearings and structures will be an advantage Competencies: Trained (certified) in reliability testing and calculation Skills in operating and maintaining heavy duty gearboxes (e.g. wind, power generation, etc.) Skills in lubrication systems, bearings and gear are expected You have worked with certification requirements for Type approval, IEC 61400 Experience in operating of wind turbines is an advantage Experiences in creating reports, technical presentation and reviewing technical documents Capability to lead activities and projects Highly motivated, self-driven, open minded, effective communicator Strong technical background, customer focus, teamwork and a global mindset What we offer: We offer a challenging job with excellent opportunities for vocational and personal development at the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturer.
