Description To make Vestas wind turbines most reliable we are bringing the field conditions into our test centers. The Test & Verification operates the biggest test facilities in wind industry. It covers more than 50 test rigs on 30,000sqm. It includes some of the biggest and most advanced test rigs in the wind business (e.g generator rigs up to 16MW, 80m full scaled blade rigs and gearbox rigs up to 20MW). You will be joining a department consisting of 28 skilled engineers and technicians. The team is responsible to plan and execute tests on gearboxes, converter and generators according our verification procedures and standards. You will be developing new test methods, procedures and test equipment together with the design teams to ensure that the tests are always executed highly efficient on a high quality level. As a member of the testing team you need to take care that our test benches and equipment is regular maintained, up to date and always ready for testing. Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities will be to: Execute tests on generator and converter Develop and planning of tests and theire procedures Execute test according to planning and budget Summarize test and verification results to influence the design according requirements and reliability Work close with Project Management and Design Teams to ensure execution of verification plans Participate in supplier qualification test of generators Participate in designing new test setups for validation purposes of Vestas Products We also expect you to have knowledge in the design of the generator and/or converters and their constraints for given projects in order to execute tests flawless and efficiently in collaboration with Specialists and Design Teams. Qualifications: You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or related specialisms; in particular, advanced experience in the design of generators and/or converters, powersystems, will be considered relevant to the position. Further, we expect you to have: Experience of at least 3-5 years in testing and testing methods . At least 2 years' experience with failure modes and mechanism on electrical components Competencies: Skills in operating/ understanding wind turbines and/ or electrical power systems, generators and converter (e.g. wind, power generation, etc.) You have worked with certification requirements for Type approval, IEC 61400 Experiences in creating reports, technical presentation and reviewing technical documents Capability to lead activities and projects Highly motivated, self-driven, open minded, effective communicator Capability to work as part of a team Strong technical background, customer focus and a global mindset Working knowledge of labview is an advantage Fluent in MS office Capability to read drawings (electrical and mechanical) and preferable capable to edit drawings is an advantage Trained (certified) in reliability testing and calculations (mathcad) is an advantage What we offer: We offer a challenging job with excellent opportunities for vocational and personal development at the world's leading wind turbine manufacturer.
