Transport & Handling is a part of Technology &Service Solutions (TSS), Vestas R&D organization. The department isaccountable for developing and maintaining standard work processes and toolsfor Transport, Installation and Maintenance of wind turbines. Responsibilities: Handling Tools is a part of Transport & Handling. The team is overall responsible for specifying tools and designing tools for Transport, Installation and Maintenance of wind turbines. As a Design Engineer your responsibilities are: Understand the business oflifting, transporting and handling of large components Understand the complexity of a wind turbine layout to enable the development of special tools needed foroptimized handling of wind turbine components Manage the development of specialtools through design or specifications to suppliers Work in close contact with HSE, R&D Engineers, Sales BusinessUnit Project Management, Commissioning Engineers and transport companies todevelop new products and solutions Provide supportto Sales Busines Unit for special tools or handling requirements Personal involvement in fieldtesting of proto type solutions As a technical lead in relationto tooling for new wind turbines your responsibilities are: Technical leadership of a project including active project participation Secure technical requirements of project are agreed on and meet Secure documentation for technical review (TR) meetings Present progress, concepts and risks to cross functional project team Secure deliverables for TR meetings Single point of contact for Project/T&H Drive detailed planning (Level Cplanning) Main contact to supplier/production Monitor scope deviations and deviations on project execution together with project PM Qualifications: At least 5 years experience within installation, maintenance or other handling of wind turbines or otherlarge components Educated Technical designer,Electrical engineer or Marine Engineer (or similar) Certification or training inproject management An additional certification in SixSigma or similar is an advantage Competencies: Experience in development of tools/handling equipment forlarger components in either wind or maritime industry or similar Experience in 3D-Modeling and Conceptual study experience Knowledge of Pro-E Experience in making 2D drawings DFMEA and Risk assessment skills. Good communication and presentation skills in English, both written and verbal Knowledge about wind turbine technology and systems Knowledge about wind turbine service business Experience with project management or planning Capable of cooperating with colleagues in a professional and positive manner What we offer: We offer you an exciting and challenging job in a dynamicwork environment.
