A toxicologist position (Senior Scientist) is open for employment in the Department of Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology within Global Research, in Måløv from 1st of May 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter. About the department The department is overall responsible for performing non-clinical studies, supporting safety assessment of drug candidates throughout development. Furthermore, we also provide toxicological support to material characterization in device projects and toxicological assessments to Product Supply. The job You will join our toxicology group and be allocated to drug development projects, where you will be representing our department. This includes coordination of activities with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The focus for your projects will lie within the biopharm portfolio and your role will be to plan, secure performance of, and report state of the art non-clinical in vivo and in vitro safety studies. You will be integrating data from these studies and other sources and thereby support the overall safety assessment of our drug candidates. You will be responsible for the scientific quality of reports and other documentation for submission to regulatory authorities in accordance with international guidelines. In the current job, you will furthermore provide toxicological support to the SEND (Standard for Exchange of Nonclinical Data) project; a business critical compliance project that works towards ensuring submission of non-clinical data files to FDA in electronic format. Qualifications You have a degree in veterinary or life science combined with a solid understanding of physiology and pathology. You have experience in animal experimental work and preferably an educational or professional background in toxicology. Ideally you have experience with drug development of pharmaceutical drug candidates including involvement in the non-clinical safety assessment of biopharmaceuticals. We will take care of any necessary additional training, coaching and education. We expect that you are clear in your communication, possess excellent written and spoken English skills and focus on providing high-quality, timely results in close collaboration with your colleagues in the project teams. The Global Research Unit specialises in the discovery of biological medicines for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes. We also discover and develop new innovative biopharmaceuticals for haemophilia and growth disorders. Furthermore, we conduct stem cell and beta cell regeneration research and other early-stage investigations aimed at finding a cure for diabetes, as well as exploring novel treatments for obesity and long-term, micro-vascular complications of diabetes. The Global Research Unit consists of app. 1.500 highly qualified Scientists, PhDs/PostDocs and Lab Technicians and we conduct our world class research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Beijing and Seattle.
