Vestas is looking for a transport specialist who can lead business critical improvements related to general transport in Vestas. The new colleague will support the continuous optimization of our supply chain in order to secure that our customers at all times get an on-time and cost efficient service. There will be a continuous dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders around the world, and this position will enable the right candidate to develop and thrive in a truly global company. Supply Chain Planning, Global General Transport & Customs. The transport specialist will be positioned in the Global General Transport and Customs department with 30 highly skilled and motivated colleagues world-wide. The department has the global responsibility for the handling of general freight, customs compliance and export controls. Responsibilities: The transport specialist’s responsibilities will include: Initiate and lead cost and process optimization projects Analysis of available data to follow transport performance and to identify possible cost optimisations Dialogue with our forwarding companies on operational issues and improvements Coordinate across the organization that transport requirements are communicated and fulfilled Assist with daily operational issues in the team Qualifications: Education within the transport area or similar combined with well-developed project management skills Several years of experience from a forwarding company or similar Competencies: Thorough knowledge of general transport and forwarding Strategic skills and ability to maneuver among various stakeholders Strong analytical skills – ability to identify details and to draw and communicate conclusions Knowledge of project management and process improvement methods is an advantage Good verbal and written communication skills – incl. in English What we offer: This position offers excellent opportunities for cross disciplinary and personal development by working with general transport in a large global organization having highly specialized and professional colleagues.
