Yeast Research Scientist (Senior Scientist / Lab Manager)

Carlsberg A/S is looking for a Scientist/Senior Scientist/Lab Manager to drive work in the Yeast Genetics group at the Carlsberg Laboratory on lager yeast genetics and flavor management. As Senior Scientist/Lab Manager you will be involved with and/or responsible for: •Leading projects on lager yeast and other microbial organisms •Supervision of BSc, MSc students and post-doctoral fellows •Molecular genetic analyses of strains •Developing and establishing assays for yeast screening •Analysis of yeast fermentation performance •Preparing project presentations The candidate must be fluent in English. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and international research environment and contribute to projects combining basic and applied aspects of microbiological research. You will be part of a world leading global company that provides an experienced international team and excellent research facilities. Our research applies a range of technologies and advanced approaches in lager yeast genomics and breeding. Personal Qualifications: • A PhD in molecular biology; preferably with +5 years of post-doc experience and with a track-record of productivity • Knowledge and experience in biochemical, cellular and genetic analysis of S. cerevisiae, lager yeast or other microbes • Experience with bioinformatics and knowledge of microbial physiology, e.g. regarding fermentation performance and/or volatile compound formation is a plus • Experience in project management, IT/presentational skills; excellent communication, leadership, and efficient organisational skills • Confident to work in a team but also individually and independently and take the full ownership of your tasks Application: Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
