Apply for a job as a carer for a 17-year-old female, who is currently in high school and aspiring to go to university within the next couple of years.
The young female’s cognitive skills are age appropriate, and therefore the job requires that you mainly help her with the practicalities of her everyday life. The female lives with her family in Western Jutland, Denmark, and is a wheelchair user, but lives a normal and active life with the help from carers.
The job has a 37-hour workweek, with the possibility of working extra shifts. The job contains personal care, but it is not required to have a health professional degree, or the like, since there is extensive induction training. There will be day shifts and night shifts, and the latter of the two requires that you are awake due to respiratory factors.
There are the following requirements for a carer:
- That you are between the ages of 20 – 30.
- That you speak English fluently.
- That you will work as a carer for the young female at least one year.
- That you are a non-smoker.
- That you have a calm personality and take on responsibility. Moreover, you need to be methodical and structured.
- That you are interested in learning more about medication, personal care and assistive technology.
- That you have a driver´s licence (to transport the girl back and forth to school in her own car)
- That you have a clean criminal record
- That you are flexible and willing to work extra hours if conditions change
- That you behave discreetly and respect you work in a private home
You will be helped to settle in Denmark if you get this job. We offer very good salary, a chance to learn about muscular dystrophy, Danish way of life and experiences in Denmark
