Brief Description:

We have centralized the global category management activities for the Transportation/Logistics category in the corporate Head Office in Valby, Copenhagen, and we are right now looking for a new colleague with a strong focus on executing global category procurement initiatives, hereunder to run tenders and ensure proper implementation in the seven regions around the world, where we do business.

 

Detailed Description:

The first specific task that awaits you is to execute the global ocean and air freight forwarding tender. FLSmidth currently work with a short list of preferred global suppliers on ocean and air freight forwarding, with a mix of preferred global and preferred regional suppliers on project logistics and with regional preferred suppliers on land transport and courier services.

The tender will be carried out with input and involvement from mainly the seven Regional Logistics Managers and guidance and support from the Global Category Manager for Transportation. In addition, the Project Manager will ensure proper implementation in the seven regions, requiring strong execution and stakeholder management competencies.

The category deployment plans contain other global and regional initiatives on an ongoing basis, which the Project Manager will be involved in, or be responsible to drive. 

As Category Project Manager, you have project management experience, coupled with solid experience from working in a complex global matrix organization, where different priorities and interests need to be balanced to optimize the global business. Knowledge of logistics procurement is required, with solid experience being an advantage.  

We are looking for a candidate who can challenge our existing processes and optimise them further. FLSmidth is embarking on a digital journey, why the ideal candidate will also have an interest in the various technical solutions including Robotic Process Automation, and can set the direction for where we should be in the future. 

You thrive in a global organisation and have the energy and communicative skills to create results in collaboration with many different people. This includes the ability to manage team members located in multiple locations within the global FLSmidth organisation. You have the analytical skills to get hold of details and the overview to take a holistic perspective of complex situations, schedules and projects. As a person, you can handle pressure, and you enjoy facing challenges and have a persistent attitude towards making things better.

You will be part of the global procurement organization of around 900 people, and you will organizationally belong to the Group Indirect and Services category team of seven people that cover the global categories: Indirect, Travel, Logistics, Warehouse/Packaging, Construction Services and Commodities - all located in Denmark.

Travel activity must be expected – up to 30 days per year.

 

Job requirements:

The ideal candidate has the following specific competences/experience:

• Strong focus on and a proven track record on project management and project execution
• In depth knowledge of working in a global matrix organisation
• Solid experience (min. 5 years) with international logistics procurement
• Strong stakeholder, cross-cultural and communication skills (English)
• Min. Bachelor degree

 

You have a background in procurement or international logistics in a multinational business – or a combination of both.
