Five 2-year, full-time positions as postdocs are available for highly dedicated researchers at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen, starting on 15 August 2019, or as soon as possible hereafter.

The mission of the Department of Public Health is to provide the scientific foundation for improving public health, both nationally and globally. This includes increased understanding of the links between health, the individual and society as well as the ethical, equity and political implications of poor health and health interventions. The Department strives to ensure its position as a world-leading department within public health through multidisciplinary research, high quality education, engagement with stakeholders and the public at large.

The Department has as part of its ongoing strategic plan selected five areas of research priority including digitalization and high data complexity in health and across sectors; life course analysis; public health interventions and innovation; sustainability in global and environmental health; and science and technology studies.

Your research interest
We invite applicants to come forward with a brief outline of proposed research relevant to public health. The outline should include a reference to how the proposed work may relate to the research priority areas of the Department of Public Health. We highly encourage new topics and research methods not already covered by ongoing research. We encourage interdisciplinary research including research that may go across several sections at the Department of Public Health and undertaken as part of an international research partnership. The funding provided by the Department of Public Health includes salary for the postdoc, administrative support but only limited provision for research expenses.

Your job
You will work on your own proposed research plan in close collaboration with other researchers at the Department of Public Health and from outside the department. You will participate in the day to day activities at the department and the specific section of affiliation. You may be asked to provide supervisory inputs to master and PhD thesis students as well as teaching input at some of the educational programs managed by the Department of Public Health.

Profile and Qualifications
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic researchers with the following competencies and experience:

•A completed PhD
•Experienced in research methods and theory of relevance for your proposed research
•Publications in international peer reviewed journals
•Past experience from an international research environment
•Enterprising
•Excellent skills in both written and spoken English
•Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams
•Research project management experience considered an advantage
•Teaching and supervisory experience at university level considered an advantage

Place of employment
The place of employment is the Department of Public Health at the Center for Health and Society in the center of Copenhagen (http://www.pubhealth.ku.dk) with one section based at Medical Museion (http://www.museion.ku.dk). We offer a creative and stimulating working atmosphere in a dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of employment
The employment as postdoc is a full time and fixed-term position for two years. Starting date is 15 August 2019 or after agreement.

Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 33,600 DKK/ approx. 4,480 Euro (April 2018-level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” of June 28, 2013.

The further process
