The Global Sourcing department of Chr. Hansen is looking to hire a new Global Category Manager, for Categories of Direct Materials / CMO’s, preferable with experience within these areas. We are seeking a strong talent to continue building on the solid sourcing foundation that has been created. Consequently, we are looking to hire a skillful, energetic and experienced sourcing professional who could strengthen our existing team with new competencies and ideas and support our ambitious performance targets.  

As Global Category Manager your core areas of responsibility will include sourcing related to Direct Materials and or CMO’s. The position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Hørsholm, Denmark (north of Copenhagen). The Global Sourcing team consists of 19 skillful and enthusiastic colleagues with diverse backgrounds located across Europe and the US. The corporate language is English. 

Global Sourcing at Chr. Hansen is responsible for optimizing cost efficiency and business value for the company’s global operations. One of the most important competencies in your role as Global Category Manager is the ability to establish and drive global sourcing strategies, as well as align and constructively challenge the business in regard to identification of new cost optimization opportunities. Other important areas include supplier negotiations, commercial risk mitigation, contract compliance, supplier development, stakeholder management and continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities and tasks in the role are: 

• Enhance the “governance structure” for assigned categories with business stakeholders
• Take charge of joint identification of projects, alignment of priorities and setting of targets based on the Total Cost of Ownership approach
• Responsibility for category management and sourcing activities for the assigned categories, including vendor management
• Development, implementation and compliance of Local/global category strategies
• Running of tenders, supplier negotiations and contract formalization
• Responsibility for suppliers’ commercial development and business performance
• Preparing market reports for categories

Personal profile

We expect that you have the following experience, background and personal competencies: 

• You hold a M.Sc. in Business Administration or other relevant and adequate academic education and/or work experience
• You have a minimum of 5 years of business experience from a position within sourcing, or in combination with other relevant fields.
• You are fluent in spoken and written English
• You are a self-starter and a strong driver with an ability to align various parts of the business, in order to deliver sustainable results
• You are used to operating in a global context
• You are business minded and possess strong stakeholder management skills
• You are strong in strategic and analytical thinking, have good negotiation skills and good knowledge of commercial agreements and policies
• Experience in change management will be valued, as well as a good sense of humor
