Global Procurement is responsible for managing Vestas’ spend with external suppliers world-wide. As part of the Vestas strategy and transformation of Procurement, we need strong leaders who have the appetite to drive change and deliver results through engagement with all stakeholders and through implementing cost out opportunities and building capabilities for Service excellence globally.

We are looking for two Managers, one for Main Components and one for Spare Parts, both to lead your global team in the assigned area; to develop and implement new initiatives to support the growth and profitability ambitions of Vestas Service through the collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers. 

In Global Procurement, we are working closely with the Service business area. It is key that the strategies for your department are embedded with the overall for Spare Parts and repair and in alignment with the strategies in Service. We are also actively collaborating with other functions including Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Quality and Finance; to continuously improve and develop our organisation, people and deliverables and ensure strategic and value add input and performance from Global Procurement is an asset for the Service organisation.

With a total cost of ownership (TCO) mindset and an end to end scope of responsibility, as Manager you will be a change agent focusing on delivering strong results through building capabilities within the organisation. 

Responsibilities
You will report directly to the Head of Service & Spare Parts in Global Procurement and be a member of the Global Service & Spare Parts management team. Your primary areas of responsibility are to: 

• Manage a team of procurement employees who are covering the spend in Main Components or Spare Parts and repair for Vestas and non-Vestas wind turbine solutions and services
  • Create and develop a global team and organisation that is fully empowered and responsible for their area of spend;
  • Ensure the team has right capabilities and expertise to provide competitive advantage on market, circumstances, product- and supply base competitive information to the Vestas organisation
  • Ensure supplier performances agreed with the Service organisation and followed with clear and transparent objectives
• Secure Repair and Spare Parts are an integral part of Category Strategies and implemented to leverage scale, secure supply at right price & quality, and compliant with Vestas policies;
  • Develop and implement best in class Spare Parts and Repair sourcing strategy, that ties into the overall Vestas Service strategy
• Lead relationships with key strategic suppliers
  • Establish and develop partnerships with existing and new suppliers;
  • Secure all supplier demands from Service organisation are controlled through the lowest TCO as well as that sustainability, quality, innovation and delivery requirements are fulfilled
  • Secure that short and long-term risk associated with the supplier is managed
• Enhance the warehousing and item classification: develop and implement a plan for classification/segmentation of Spare Parts and warehousing strategy to optimise top line growth and bottom-line savings

Qualifications

We are looking for ambitious and experienced procurement professionals with a proven track record from an international organisation. We also expect profound knowledge of a Service and Spare Part environment combined with the familiarity of Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management and Lean. Furthermore, we are looking for profiles with a:

• Bachelor/diploma or Master’s degree in the field of (or related to) Supply Chain Management (either Business or Engineering)
• Strong leader with business & commercial expertise and cultural understanding
• "Total cost of ownership mindset" and excellent negotiation skills
• Highly proficient in English, written and verbally (Danish is not a must and we welcome international candidates)

Additional information
Primary work location is Aarhus N, Denmark but other locations can be considered.
