Production Engineering is looking for a Lead Specialist who is motivated by running large complex projects within production of new blades with high focus on structure and great communication. PE & Blade Factory Lem > Production Engineering > Blade Project and Footprint Assessment
Blades Production Engineering is accountable for the delivery of the manufacturing Production Basis, including development of process and tooling of the blades in Vestas. Blade Projects & Training is accountable to take all the PE engineering deliverables and ensure that all the work can be brought together to build the first blades (and product upgrades) which will also be both cut up and used on test rigs to achieve certification of the new product. Due to the tight timelines of getting new blades to market it is common that only 2-4 blades are used at this stage of development. A major part of this role is therefore the ability to organize, follow up and track deliverables accordingly to the time plan and to technically be capable to ensure the engineering work. The end customer for this role is serial production factories that will take over the developed production and take the product into its first prototype run.

Responsibilities
You will be the project manager of large projects which on average expands over a year and involves 40-50 team members. The Lead project engineer will typically be responsible for one primary project and one secondary, which is in the starting or completion stage. You will be given sole accountability for specific deliveries of new blades or upgrades to agreed time, cost and quality. This includes:

• Ensuring structured and lean way of working to develop manufacturing processes and equipment
• Planning and coordination of the shop floor in the design prototyping build, including resource allocation from the Blade Production
• Close collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure DFMEA and PFMEA quality assurance on an ongoing basis. This include building strong relationships with stakeholders to enable fast execution
• Product documentation from PE are delivered in quality and time
• Participate in One Stop Office meetings (OSOS) team on behalf of PE
• Lead in Peer reviews with PE Process and Tooling engineers, to ensure robust and reliable production processes and designs.
• Escalation of non-conformity to the Development Project Manager along with correction plans.
• Preparation of structured reporting during the development, which will also feed to the Overall Project Manager in Vestas for the technical NDI project.
• Handover to New Product Introduction department who will take over the production area after the design prototyping is completed and keep ensuring that deliverables are done.
• Vision and behavior to be able to continually to front load and analyse issues that can be solved from engineers rather than solved on the shop floor.
• The above must be done with high attention and focus to a safe working environment, and at all times ensuring safety remains top priority.

Qualifications
You will have a relevant engineering degree and min. 10 years of work experience within production or manufacturing - covering experience in engineering positions, factory production and tooling competences.

To get success in this position you will also need to have:

• Experience in using quality tools and working strictly within an environment where controlled documents and process are required
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Project Management and project management tools (Prince2 are preferred)
• Blades experience is ideal, but we would consider experience from other manufacturing industries such as where the knowledge of bringing new products into production has been gained
• Experience with composite engineering
• Business and quality system knowledge
• Experienced user level on Excel, MS Project and MS Sharepoint
