Blade Introduction Center > VBIC Process > Process Development
The Manufacturing Process Development & support team, is responsible for manufacturing process design, development and ongoing support for blades production for wind turbines. The team has about 20 employees located in Lem Denmark and Isle of Wight UK.

The process team supports both new product developments and all our blades factories around the world during that are in running production.

The team is a part of Blades Production Engineering who consist of 100+ employees in total

Responsibilities
Recently the area of responsibility for the team has grown and we are therefore looking for new colleagues to help us with our new and existing challenges. The process development engineers are a part of a team of engineers and technicians; who are responsible for manufacturing process design and development in relation to blade manufacturing for new products but also for development of the wind turbine blades of the future.

Work with engineering colleagues both inside and outside Production Engineering to meet business goals.

Collaborate with Tooling, Design, Prototype Team and others within the PE/VBEC Team, engineers, technicians and specialists alike.

The Process Development Engineering positions will primarily cover:

• Blade manufacturing process design and development - for new products and processes including:
• Define and develop blade manufacturing concepts based on design specifications given from our blade design team. Development of New Composite Blade building processes, support prototyping of new blades manufacturing, testing trials and de-risking activities.
• Develop PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Requirement Specifications(PRS) and Risk Assessments. Define and develop NDT methods to be used in blade production
• Communicating the build methods to manufacturing by creating and maintaining work Instructions
• Maintain blade Design drawings with process information. Define and maintain drawings for procured parts used in the blade designs. Develop and maintain consumables / non structural TPS (Technical Purchase Specifications) for blade production materials
• Define and specify laser positioning for blade manufacturing, including CAD drawing updates
• Engineering Change Management. Case handle ECRs related to the above topics and secure controlled implementation

Qualifications
You hold a bachelor or master's degree in Engineering or equivalent education or work experience. Preferably Chemical engineering, Production engineering, Mechanical engineering or similar. You are attracted by an international environment with a high level of activity.

You are a candidate with some years of experience within some of the following areas:

• Experience with thermoset resin systems such as Epoxy and Polyurethane chemistry
• NDT methods such as Thermography, Ultrasonic Testing or Laser Shearoghraphy
• Developing new composite processing methods, materials or processes; within a composite manufacturing or process industry. It could be Wind Turbine Blade manufacturing, aerospace, boats etc- we are interested in the experience that you have to build on it
• Experience with running optimization and process development projects in manufacturing environments
• Experience with Experimental design / Multivariable data analysis both planning and treatment of staticial data and tolerance analysis
• Have knowledge within composite manufacturing e.g. infusion technology, Pre-preg, component assembly, coating and spray painting
• PFMEA and control plans
