The 'Drug delivery and Sensor' section at DTU Health Tech wishes to employ a researcher within the framework of the highly interdisciplinary Center of Excellence - IDUN. The position as a researcher is a permanent entry-level position.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the Raman Instrumentation activities in the section, interacting with several section members working in different disciplines, such as optics, biochemistry, biology, microfluidics, pharmacology and polymer science.

The position is on the realisation of Raman instruments applicable within the medical field. This includes development of portable Raman systems and new imaging capabilities, e.g. 3D Raman imaging of drug-loaded micro containers.

Responsibilities and tasks

You will be responsible for our Raman instruments development and optimisation and will interact with several industrial collaborators. You will be responsible for securing a high quality in our development of new Raman imaging methods and instrumentation and for continuously pushing the limit for what is possible. You will be responsible for teaching activities at our summer schools and for developing health tech related curriculum for new courses at our department.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

We seek a person who is in line with our IDUN values (http://www.idun.dtu.dk) and who is highly self-motivated and with a great flair for guiding students and for collaborating with industry. Preferably you have a PhD degree in optics and Raman spectroscopy. http://www.idun.dtu.dk/

Candidate should have experience in:

• Raman imaging of biological and pharmaceutical systems
• Optical design in sequential and non-sequential modes using Zemax or similar software
• Design and construction of Raman spectrometers and microscopes
• 2D and 3D hyperspectral data analysis in Matlab using chemometrics techniques

You enjoy the interaction with team members, collaborators and students and you are a good communicator. You have experience in writing research proposals and in attracting grant in collaboration with industry.

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position as a researcher is a permanent entry-level position. After a maximum of 4 years, a researcher can be promoted to a senior researcher position after assessment.
