Are you a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) professional with experience in Cisco network equipment? And would you like to work at the leading wind pioneer on sustainable energy solutions? If so, then you could be our SCADA Engineer to acts as go-to-person on infrastructure tasks and challenges.

Vestas North and Central Europe (NCE) is responsible for selling, installing and servicing wind farms in North and central Europe and also at new markets like South Africa and Russia. The SCADA department in Vestas NCE has currently approx. 75 employees. Each wind farm typically has a SCADA system to control and monitor the park. We are currently servicing 1700 systems and installing approx. 120 new every year. 

In the sub-department SCADA Engineering, our main task is your team help introducing new products and technologies, standardise the systems in the field and be matter experts in areas like Grid connection, network, cybersecurity etc.  We are collaborating daily with co-departments in other business units globally to reach world-class results. 

 

Responsibilities
Your primary area of responsibility will be to:

• Implement and support SCADA installations and applications with a focus on network infrastructure and equipment
• Configure hardware and software for wind farm control in accordance with industry standards and requirements. Handle troubleshooting tasks in cooperation with customers and internal stakeholders
• Interface with internal R&D and regional colleagues to ensure knowledge sharing and alignment on development projects
• Act as the departments' go-to person on infrastructure tasks and challenges

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you have technical hands-on experience working with advanced networks and servers. More specifically, you have: 

• A relevant technical education e.g. in an engineering field, IT/data or similar related to the position
• Experience with Cisco network equipment. CCNA certification would be an advantage
• Good overall knowledge in PLC, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, electrical systems and industrial communication protocols
• Experience with maintenance of IT systems would be beneficial
• General knowledge of maintenance or commissioning of SCADA systems would also be beneficial
• Proficiency in English, verbally and in writing

Additional information 
The primary location is Videbæk, Denmark, but it could as well be in Germany (Hamburg or Husum) or in Poland (Szczecin) if the right candidate is available here. 
You can expect some travel activity, up to 30 days annually.
