Do you have a strong commercial drive combined with technical understanding and analytical competences across the supply chain?  

Join us and become Senior Category Manager in Global Category Management where you’ll be overall responsible for the business within your categories, clearly defining the supply chain in coordination with the cross-functional module team by applying category management tools and creating commercial leverage to reduce total costs. Global Category Management is responsible for identifying ways of achieving the perfect fit between the supplier market, our technical needs and the contractual set-up.  

Your key tasks will be to 

• develop and continually review robust, forward-looking global category plans based on business needs taking into account regional and national differences 
• ensure appropriate vendor management practices, e.g. that supply performance reviews are established and applied 
• analyse supply dashboards, implementation rates of key performance indicators and supply information/data from various systems and conduct root cause analyses of supply chain bottlenecks and challenges 
• work with the business units to improve procurement and commercial understanding and compliance with purchasing processes and, where necessary, challenge and pursue cost improvement actions focusing on the total cost of ownership 
• perform extensive procurement and category management 
• keep updated on market trends through relationships with suppliers and market experts.  

With deep category knowledge, this will be achieved through the creation and continual review of robust and forward-looking category plans that use the full range of supply and demand-side levers including the execution of these plans and the achievement of savings. Your overall success will depend on your ability to find opportunities in the supply chain which help to get more value for the money spent.  

Your competences include that you 

• have a relevant degree in supply chain management/business/engineering or a related field ??, preferably at master’s level 
• have a successful track record in a global procurement organisation 
• have strong analytical capabilities and negotiation skills 
• are familiar with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and are able to use it efficiently to analyse problems and communicate the results 
• have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

 As a person, you’re analytical, customer-oriented, communicative and have business understanding, enabling you to stay ahead of your internal customers’ expectations and needs. You have experience working in a large organisation and are good at establishing relations. You take initiatives and are good at making decisions with a high level of integrity. You have a desire to achieve continuous optimisation through an in-depth understanding of functional requirements. Finally, you work independently and in an efficient and result-oriented manner without compromising on the quality of your work.
