Drive safety centered decision-making in cross functional project teams

You will be responsible for securing that we identify and progress drug candidates that are safe enough to benefit the patients. Your primary tasks will be:

• Provide scientific knowledge and toxicology expertise to cross-functional project teams, from target discovery to candidate selection
• Design, monitor, interpret and communicate data from in vitro and in vivo investigative toxicology studies (primarily conducted by external CROs) to secure that we select new drug molecules with a favorable safety profile
• Evaluate new targets from a safety perspective and define the safety strategy for the projects
• Continuously monitor technological advancements within toxicology, and implement new assays to benefit the projects

 

Required qualifications:

• Excellent scientist with a PhD in cell biology, toxicology, pharmacology, medicine or related field
• At least three years’ experience from the pharmaceutical industry, and solid understanding of the drug discovery and development processes
• Experience with design, execution and interpretation of in vitro and/or in vivo experiments to investigate the effect of drug candidates
• Ability to analyze complex issues and engage in timely and thoughtful decision making, as well as strong communication skills
• Must thrive in a dynamic working environment where key values are knowledge sharing and teamwork

 

In addition, the following qualifications will be considered an advantage:

• Toxicology and/or safety pharmacology expertise
• Experience with discovery and development of therapeutic antibodies
• Proficiency in cellular and molecular biology techniques, in particular high content imaging, transcriptional profiling, and three-dimensional cell cultures
• Knowledge about immunology and inflammatory skin diseases

 

In Vivo Biology and Safety, your new department

We are a department with 23 highly skilled scientists and technicians, as well as several students. Of these, three skilled scientists are dedicated to the discovery toxicology work. The department performs early safety assessment and in vivo efficacy testing of drug candidates within the dermatology area. Our work is characterized by innovation, translation, and patient centricity, and we are known for our open and informal working atmosphere.
