About the position 

As Director of Sales you will be leading our dynamic sales team, whose key responsibilities are Account Management and Business Development. We expect you to bring a strong local network and knowledge of the industry in terms of trends, opportunities and competitors. The position requires you to be both commercially minded, and to have an astute understanding of people and team motivation. Building and maintaining relationships with both team members and clients is an essential skill in this role.    As Director of Sales, you will be working in a very high paced, highly energized and fun environment within an ambitious team of four individuals - one business developer, one local catering sales executive and two senior sales managers. Your area of focus is the Nordic markets and you will be working closely with our Global brands, peers in our business, and global sales colleagues in a highly collaborative work environment.  Client satisfaction is our top priority so we all strive to ensure that dialogues and interactions with our clients at all times are professional, commercial and confident. We want a level of services that makes our existing clients return with future business and new clients notice us as potential business partners.  

About the tasks  

We are looking for an individual, capable of thinking and acting in a strategic and commercial way and at the same time possessing a true hunting instinct, to facilitate the success of our MICE and Corporate business.   The job consists of: 

• Leading and coaching your team in regards to targets & actions 
• Reach/Exceed revenue targets annually  
• Oversee business development to ensure a strong pipeline of contacts and New Biz opportunities
• Be a public ambassador for BC Hospitality Group
• Qualify new contacts with potential MICE business for BCHG on an on-going basis  
• Conducting client meetings, site inspections and conference calls 
• Ensure that the team meets monthly goals
• Provide overview and strategic direction of the market
• Participate and network in Nordic client events 
• Expand your network with agencies, relevant company contacts etc.  
• Provide our business with market intelligence
• Oversee and monitor RFP systems  
• Monthly reproting on activities - goals, successes, achievements etc.
• Facilitate a creative and innovative culture

About you 

Your ability to couple initiative with a sense of competitive drive, and staying focused on results despite changing conditions, are key factors to ensuring success in this position. Because of the ever-changing nature of the market, this position demands a creative approach to idea generation, good implemenation skills as well as quick adaptation to changing circumstances. In terms of leadership, you should be firm and goal oriented and at the same time be able to engage your team in an enthusiastic way - making motivation a driver for success. On top of this:

• You should have at least 4 years of relevant sales leadership experience
• You should have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and a good knowledge of- and network within the industry. 
• You should be outgoing and with a natural ability for building relationships and rapport. 
• You should be experienced in both executing and following-up on promotional activities as well as leading others in these activities. 
• You should possess strong collaborative skills 
• You should have well developed coaching skills 

 Other than that, you should: 

• Have experience with Change Management
• Be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 
• Able to adapt quickly to new procedures and multiple systems (Opera, Microsoft 365) 
• Able to work and thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment 
• Professional, with a “get it done” attitude and strong work ethics 
• A driven sales personality – with a “Hunters” approach 
• Keen negotiation skills
• Strong strategic implementation experience - going from plan to action
• Proficient in both written and spoken Danish and English
