Then the position as Compliance Counsel in the Data Protection Office (DPO) might be of interest to you.

 

About the department

The DPO is a newly established  team of four dedicated employees whose main focus is developing and driving the global strategy and programme to comply with personal data protection laws, including GDPR. The DPO works with a global network of more than personal data protection compliance anchors and is closely aligned with a 250+ strong global legal and compliance organization. We are part of the Business Ethics Compliance Office (BECO), which develops and leads the implementation of Novo Nordisk’s global ethics and compliance  strategy and programme.

The DPO and BECO are part of Business Assurance (BA) . BA’s aspiration is to safeguard the Novo Nordisk values and license to operate by providing compliance and assurance services across the company. In addition to BECO, BA consists of Group Internal Audit, Facilitation and Organisational Audit.

 

The job

As Compliance Counsel, your key responsibilities will be:

• Advise the organization on how to identify, assess, and mitigate personal data protection compliance risks;
• Help the DPO develop effective and pragmatic guidance, processes, and templates to support local compliance efforts;
• Provide training to business stakeholders to increase competencies and awareness regarding personal data protection; and
• Assist in coordinating the data breach response and data subject request process.

Qualifications

You hold a master degree within a relevant field (i.e., law or commercial law) and come with a few years of practical legal or compliance experience and solid project management skills. You are highly proactive, ambitious, and structured. You are good at communicating complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner, both in person and in writing, and you speak and write English fluently. Interacting with stakeholders in all levels, functions, and geographical areas of the organization motivates you. You are a team player who likes a challenge.
