Your responsibilities as Consultant for Strategic Energy Policy Planning
As Consultant in Ramboll Energy, you will be a part of a cross-functional team working with cross-disciplinary initiatives: “Energy Strategy and Planning” addressing high level strategic, economic, technical, and policy challenges nationally and especially internationally.

Clients range from private companies to national operators of energy infrastructure and IFI’s such as the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, EBRD, and the EU Commission.

You will be responsible for selected parts of various projects, delivering analysis and assessments of:

• EU Energy Policies
• Developing countries’ approach to achieving their carbon reduction commitments
• Energy and the UN Sustainability Development Goals
• Financial and economic performance and potential of companies in the energy sector
• Building business cases for investments within the energy sector

It is expected that you are able to communicate your analysis clearly in both writing and in face-to-face meetings with clients. The department serves clients from all over the world. The majority of the work is performed from the head office in Copenhagen but many projects also have a local element, e.g. collecting data or presenting findings to clients and stakeholders. Thus travelling must be expected and may vary in duration from project to project.

Your tasks will be:

• Financial and Economic analysis
• Policy review and development
• Building business cases
• Analysis and work on projects
• Report writing in both Power Point and Word
• Develop and participate in client presentations and meetings
• Development of proposals for clients
   

You and your competencies

To succeed in this position, you apply your systematic and analytical competencies to look beyond the obvious solution and create outstanding results. Your emphatic skills show that you are an excellent team player and that you easily build solid relations both internally and externally towards clients. You are either a newly graduate or have a few years of experience within financial and economic analysis and assessments. Finally, you thrive in an environment where you are trusted with responsibility and where you are expected to meet your deadlines according to agreed budgets.
 

We imagine that you have the following professional skills:

• Master’s degree in engineering (Eg. in Energy Planning) economics, business, finance, or similar
• Preferably but not mandatory, you have insights into the energy sector and a broad understanding of the value chain
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• High professional standards and ethic
• Strong business acumen
• Understanding of corporate finance and ownership structures
• Understanding of socio economic analysis and drivers
   

Join the Financial Studies team

The Economic and Financial Studies department consists of 7 employees with diverse seniority and cultural background. The department constitutes a central part of a newly established initiative, Energy Strategy and Planning, (January 2018), following the merger of Rambøll Oil and Gas and Rambøll Energy. The initiative targets decision makers and high level officials in governments, utility companies, international development banks and financial institutions. Currently 30-40 employees within wind, solar PV, power, gas, and LNG have been appointed as part of the ESP and significant cross department synergies are expected to materialize. With the international profile and experience the Economic and Financial studies department is well positioned to contribute to the development and the realization of the synergies with the ESP initiative.
