About the function

Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy. Corporate Procurement consists of 140 employees based in Denmark and India, and globally 500 people work in procurement. Corporate Procurement is anchored with direct report to the CFO of Novo Nordisk.

 

The position
As Director of the Marketing and Meetings & Events department, you will be heading up a high performing, dedicated and diverse team of 10 category managers in Corporate Procurement. 

You will identify business opportunities in our cost base of 7 billion DKK commercial, meetings and events external spent – and drive strategic projects to realise these opportunities. You will conduct sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management, establish local and global frame agreements and evaluate local and global suppliers. You will assess and revise category strategies with relevant stakeholders and continuously assess global opportunities. 

Further to this, you will optimise internal processes and increase utilisation of digitalisation and innovation in Procurement. 

You will report to the Corporate Vice President of Corporate Procurement and will be part of both Corporate Procurement Management Group and Global Procurement Leadership Team and we expect you to help drive the overall performance of the area and of the global, functional organisation. 

Taking on this responsibility requires the ability to interact with multiple senior stakeholders at EVP and SVP-level across Novo Nordisk, interact with senior leadership for many of our large, international suppliers, manage and develop a full team of business professionals and make values-based decisions in line with Novo Nordisk’s values. You will work fact-based with quantitative data while knowing when an estimate is enough, communicate clearly when collaborating with senior stakeholders across the global organisation and uphold high professional standards in deliverables. 

Your team consists of 10 highly talented category managers. Further to this, you will work in close collaboration with our colleagues in the rest of Global procurement as well as our Global Service Centre in Bangalore.

Qualifications
You have completed a Master's Degree in economics, business administration, engineering, supply chain management or similar with a top-level GPA. You have 5+ years of experience from working with procurement, finance, strategy, project management and/or business development in a leading organisation or as a management consultant from a top tier consultancy. 

You have proven people leadership experience and take leadership naturally and have high professional expectations for you and your colleagues. You have an international mindset, you communicate clearly and concisely and you are comfortable in giving presentations to senior management. Finally, you work fluently in English.
