The Process Design department is responsible for the cement process related calculations in FLSmidth, from raw material crushing, handling and grinding to pyro-processing and subsequently cement grinding and storage.

Process design and dimensioning of cement plants
In this role, your overall focus will be on process design and dimensioning of new cement plants and upgrade projects as well as servicing plants under commissioning and operation. In cooperation with Sales and the customer, you will be responsible for selecting process solutions and machines including the required technical process related documentation, e.g. heat and mass balances. You will participate in negotiations with customers and give advice on chemical and process control. When the plant is under commissioning or in operation, you will evaluate the performance and suggest optimisations etc. You will with time be part of assessing and developing solutions and participate in various R&D projects as well as providing continuous input to feasibility studies and troubleshooting. You can look forward to a specialised role that could be a stepping-stone to a future career within FLSmidth. You can expect about 40-60 travel days per year.

Experienced process engineer with a digital mind-set
We are looking for someone with:

 

• Some years of experience, preferably from the cement industry or similar industries
• Solid knowledge of unit operations, control engineering and chemical process engineering
• Strong IT skills and experience in data analysis, modelling and programming e.g. Python
• Effective networking and communication skills
• English at a high level both written and spoken. Other languages such as Arabic, French or Spanish would be a distinct benefit
